Living at Dickens Yard
The development
Dickens Yard is a residential and retail quarter in the centre of Ealing, west London. It has 698 homes in buildings of up to 14 storeys, designed by the architects JTP and built in phases until 2019.
Its buildings include Belgravia House, Vista House, Dashwood House, Fitzroy House, Skyline, Quartz House, Trafalgar House and Apsley, set around a public square facing New Broadway and the smaller Victoria Square.
Despite the name, the development is not named after the novelist: it takes its name from W.J. Dickens, a local Ealing builder.
Residents' facilities
Residents have a 24-hour concierge, a spa with a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and treatment rooms, a gym, gated underground parking and landscaped gardens.
Getting around
Ealing Broadway station is around 500 metres away - roughly a five to eight minute walk. It is served by the Elizabeth line, the Central and District lines and Great Western Railway, in Zone 3.
Since May 2022 the Elizabeth line has run direct from Ealing Broadway to the West End, the City and Canary Wharf, with connections to Heathrow.
Eating, shopping and the neighbourhood
Restaurants, cafés and a gym sit at street level around the square, and Ealing Broadway's shops are on the doorstep. Walpole Park, Ealing Green and Ealing Studios are all close by.
The development was built around Ealing's locally listed Old Fire Station, which was kept and restored, and sits next to the Grade II listed Ealing Town Hall, built in 1888.
Rents and prices
In October 2026, one-bedroom apartments at Dickens Yard were typically advertised to rent at about £2,300-£2,500 a month, and two-bedroom apartments at about £2,600-£4,000 a month, with penthouses higher.
Sale prices vary widely by building, size and floor - recent Land Registry sales run from a little over £400,000 to more than £1.2 million. For a figure for a specific apartment, ask us for a free valuation.
For Japanese families
The Japanese School in London is in Acton, in the same borough of Ealing, and Ealing has long been a home for Japanese families in London. We welcome enquiries in Japanese - see our 日本語ページ.
